Tigers beat Bangers in HCFL's Battle of Brussels

The Belmore Stingers and Milverton Millwrights are now tied atop the Huron County Fastball League standings with identical 5-0 records. Both teams are 3-0 at home and 2-0 on the road.
In third place, also with 10 points, the Sebringville Sting have a record of 5-2, followed by the 4-1 Brussels Tigers in fourth and the fifth-place Wingham Hitmen with a record of 4-2.
The Monkton Muskrats sit in sixth place with a record of 3-2, while the Fullarton A’s are in seventh with a record of 2-2, followed by the Mitchell Mets in eighth place with a record of 2-3.
The Brussels Bangers are 1-5-1 in ninth place, while the Wroxeter Rippers are in 10th place with a record of 1-5. The winless Walton Brewers are 0-4-1 in 11th place, followed by the 0-6 Goderich Grizzlies in 12th place.
On Sunday, the Brussels Tigers won the Battle of Brussels, beating the Bangers by a score of 9-2. Also that day, the Belmore Stingers beat the Fullarton A’s by a score of 10-2 and the Mitchell Mets were due to tangle with the Sebringville Sting, but that game was cancelled, to be made up at a later date.
In a very high-scoring affair on June 24, the Mitchell Mets beat the Monkton Muskrats by a score of 24-16.
On June 23, the Walton Brewers beat the Goderich Grizzlies by a score of 7-5, while the other two games scheduled for that day - the Wingham Hitmen at the Brussels Bangers and the Fullarton A’s at the Sebringville Sting - were both postponed to be made up at a later date.
On June 22, the Millwrights of Milverton beat Goderich in Milverton by a score of 18-11.
The Sebringville Sting lost to the Brussels Tigers by a score of 2-0 and the Milverton Millwrights beat the Mitchell Mets by a score of 6-2, both on June 21.
On June 20, the Wingham Hitmen travelled to Walton for a game with the Brewers, beating the home team by a score of 4-3.
On June 28, there were three games scheduled. The Monkton Muskrats were due to travel to Belmore, Walton was in Brussels for a game with the Tigers and Wingham was set to make its way to Mitchell, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
On June 30, the Brussels Bangers will be in Goderich for a game with the Grizzlies.
Then, after a few days of inaction for the league, four games are scheduled for Wednesday, July 5. Sebringville will travel to Belmore, Mitchell will host Monkton, Fullarton will take on Wingham on the road and the Tigers will welcome the Wroxeter Rippers to Brussels.
There are four more games scheduled for Friday, July 7. The Mitchell Mets will head to Goderich for a game with the Grizzlies, the Belmore Stingers will play the Muskrats in Monkton, the Brussels Bangers will be in Wroxeter to play the Rippers and the Milverton Millwrights will make their way to Wingham for a game with the Hitmen.
