31 employees on 2017 Huron County Sunshine List - March 8, 2018

Huron County has 31 employees on its “Sunshine List” for 2017, which outlines the salaries of public employees who made over $100,000 throughout the year. This is up just one person from the 30 employees on the county’s list in 2016.
Former Medical Officer of Health Jan Owen led the pack by earning $189,458 in 2017, despite being dismissed in April of 2016. Second on the list was another departed employee, former Chief Administrative Officer Brenda Orchard. She made $142,099.03 in 2017, despite departing at the beginning of August.
Meighan Wark, who took on the acting Chief Administrative Officer role in the wake of Orchard’s departure is next on the list with $137,931.74, split between her work in the new position as well as her former position of Huron County Librarian and Director of Cultural Services.
Director of Homes and Social and Property Services Barb Springall was next on the list, making $137,337.44 in 2017, followed by Director of Operations Steve Lund with $137,312.43 and Treasurer Michael Blumhagen, who made $135,075.43 last year.
Acting Senior Manager at the Huron County Health Unit Nancy Rennick made $127,037.81 for her work in 2017, followed by Huron County Clerk Susan Cronin at $126,182.57, Public Works Manager Michael Hausser at $118,782.92, Emergency Services Deputy-Chief Jeff Horseman at $118,781.39 and Homes for the Aged Administrator Connie Townsend, who made $117,558.88 last year.
Director of Care Elaine Fraser made $115,127.45 last year, while Health Unit Manager Jean-Guy Albert made $113,759.38, Director of Care Ruth Craig made $112,917.83, Barbara Hall made $112,568.11, Health Unit Manager Barb Leavitt made $112,568.09, Health Unit Manager Tanya Sangster made $112,568.08, Social Services Manager Michele Campbell-Gaynor also made $112,568.08 and Acting Deputy-Treasurer Veronica Stevenson made $112,267.67.
Director of Planning and Development Sandra Weber made $111,649.93 last year, while Health Unit Manager Christina Taylor made $110,755.04, followed by Director of Economic Development Ron Gaudet, who has since left the county, who made $109,249.15 in 2017.
Rounding out the list, Emergency Services Supervisor Mark Crawford made $107,164.99 last year, followed by Emergency Services Supervisor Arthur McNaughton at $105,771.58, Primary Care Paramedic Savannah Johnston at $104,965.86, Emergency Services Supervisor David Campbell at $104,407.34, Emergency Services Supervisor Mario Oliveira at $104,314.78, Emergency Services Supervisor Robert Taylor at $103,944.50, Emergency Services Supervisor William Lewis, who also made $103,944.50, Primary Care Paramedic James Dausett at $103,128.86 and Primary Care Paramedic David Ludwig at $102,803.49.
