Ryan Jacklin claims two golds, one bronze at nationals - Aug. 16, 2018
Belgrave-area athlete Ryan Jacklin has continued to make his mark on the track and field community with two gold medals and one bronze medal win at the 2018 Royal Canadian Legion’s National Youth Track and Field Championships.
The event was held over the weekend in Brandon, Manitoba and welcomed 650 athletes from across the country, including Jacklin who earned first-place finishes in the men’s U18 discus throw (52.11 metres) and U18 hammer throw events (64.81 metres) and bronze in the men’s U18 shot put five-kilogram event (16.49 metres).
Jacklin’s win follows his participation at the U18 Jamaican Invitational track and field meet last month, where he finished first in the hammer throw with a 62.42-metre throw.
Jacklin is a student at F.E. Madill Secondary School and trains at the Saugeen Track and Field Club.
