Brett and Nicole Bean
We love travelling and spending time with our family and friends, so naturally we could not think of a better way to celebrate our love than having a destination wedding.
In late November, 2012, on a very snowy morning many of our local friends and family drove to the family farm outside of Auburn to load on a coach bus and head to Pearson International Airport.  When we arrived at the airport more friends and family joined us.
We all boarded the plane and headed for a week-long vacation together in the sun in the beautiful Dominican Republic.
The wedding happened midweek after a couple days of relaxation.  It was a beautiful day for a wedding on the beach. We said our vows in front of 76 friends and family, exchanging rings and becoming husband and wife.
After the ceremony we had a lovely cocktail party and took many great photos.
Tracy Gutmanis, a long-time friend, and professional photographer captured our day, including the picture of us included with this article.
The rain was a welcomed relief to the heat as we moved indoors to have dinner and a reception in a beach front banquet hall.
We could not been happier sharing our special day with so many friends and family who have been such an important part of our lives and relationship. It means so much to us that so many people were happy to travel so far to attend our wedding.  It was an amazing week, being able to relax and unwind resulted in unforgettable experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.
Nicole is the daughter of Kelly Weaver of Woodstock and Larry Brindley of Dungannon. Brett’s parents are Joyce and Dana Bean of RR1, Auburn.
Brett and Nicole live in Wingham.

Prentice-McLellan
David Prentice and Crystal McLellan began their married life in sunshine, even though it was pouring rain before their wedding mass began on Sept. 22, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Wingham.
The bride is the daughter of Max and Barb McLellan of Brussels and the groom is the son of Larry and Ann Marie Prentice of Wroxeter.
A six-pillar candle of remembrance burned at the back of the altar, representing family members who were in attendance only in spirit.
Father Keith Morrison officiated.
During the bridal processional a cousin of the bride played guitar and sang.
The bride’s gown had a sweetheart neckline with an A-line skirt composed of many layers of organza. The waist was accentuated by a long sash that tied in a bow
at the back and had a handmade flower for the front. Removable organza straps were made for the ceremony.
Maid of honour was Chelsey McLellan of Brussels and bridesmaids were Candice McLellan and Cindy Black of Brussels and Kristen  Prentice of Wroxeter. They wore knee-length, strapless dresses of regency purple satin with sweetheart necklines and a slight A-line skirt.
Best man was Ronnie Higgins of London. Groomsmen were Tim Prentice of Wroxeter, Trevor Black of Brussels and Sean Elston of Hamilton.
Both godsons, Darren Prentice
and Ethan Burkholder participated
in the service, as ring bearer and after-server, respectively.
Following the ceremony
the newly-married couple departed from the church in a deep
purple, vintage Chevrolet pick-up truck.
A reception was held at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre in Brussels where a cocktail hour, dinner and dance were held. The bride and groom’s first dance was to music by a jazz ensemble led by Charlie Bell playing Van Morrison’s “A Day Like This”.
The evening ended with a poutine bar for a late-night snack.
The newlyweds enjoyed a wedding trip to Jamaica where they stayed in “tree-house” style accommodation at the Sunset in the Palms in Negril. One of the tours taken was to Rick’s Café where both the bride and groom jumped off the West End Cliff.
On their return home the couple took up residence in Hamilton.
