Maitland River Elementary School in Wingham officially opened its doors on Nov. 7, 2013 with a lengthy opening ceremony that featured a video presentation by Minister of Education Liz Sandals and speeches by Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson, Avon Maitland District School Board Director of Education Ted Doherty, School Board Chair Colleen Schenk, North Huron Reeve Neil Vincent, Morris-Turnberry Mayor Paul Gowing and more.

Maitland River Elementary School Principal Alice McDowell and Architect Terry Marklevitz explain the significance behind a tree statue in front of the school which is meant to commemorate fallen OPP officers.

The Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association held its annual reunion in Blyth, Ontario on Sept. 6-8, 2013 and held a parade daily to showcase antique steam engines, tractors and cars.

The Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association held its annual reunion on Sept. 6-8 in Blyth and hosted many events, including a tractor pull. To complement the stock tractor pull, there was also an antique tractor pull and a children's pedal tractor pull.

Blyth Festival interim Artistic Director and 14/19 Committee Chair Peter Smith announces the ambitious three-pronged 14/19 campaign for the Blyth Festival. The plan involves a complete renovation of Blyth Memorial Community Hall, as well as its courtyard, the repurposing of the former Blyth Public School and the establishment of The Blyth Foundation Endowment Fund. The announcement was made in front of the Blyth hall on July 29, 2013.

The Blyth BIA held Streetfest, an annual street celebration in Blyth and one of the main attractions was the Kiss a Pig fundraiser, which collected money throughout Blyth for weeks in advance of 2013 Streetfest, which was held on July 27, raised over $500 for the Blyth BIA. Emceed by North Huron Deputy-Reeve David Riach, BIA Chair Rick Elliott was lucky enough to hold the pig while Blyth Festival Artistic Director and 14/19 Campaign Chair Peter Smith kissed the "north" end of the pig and North Huron Reeve Neil Vincent was relegated to kissing the "business" end of the pig.

Emily and Robyn Nicholson of Blyth performed at the 2013 Streetfest in Blyth on Saturday, July 27. The sisters performed songs by The Beatles, Neil Young, and more to the delight of the event's assembled crowd.

Children's entertainer Dickie Bird entertained the Blyth youth at the 2013 Blyth Streetfest on July 27, featuring a variety of magic tricks and puppet acts that were a hit.
