Festival of Wizardry to attempt World Record - July 19, 2018
Transfigured Town had applied in early March to challenge the record for the world’s largest scavenger hunt. On May 29, Festival of Wizardry received word from Guinness Book of World Records that their application to attempt a world record was accepted. The current record is 2,732 people, and is held by Escape Manor Inc. The record was set on Sept. 10, 2017 as part of the Canada 150 celebrations held in Ottawa in 2017.
Festival organizers are hoping to organize the record-breaking attempt with at least 4,000 participants on Saturday, Sept. 22. With 6,500 attendees expected on Saturday, organizers are confident that they will have the numbers necessary to break the world record and hold it for some time. Not only will it be a great time for all the participants but it will be an opportunity to make a bit of history as record-holders.
If you want to have a magically good time breaking a world record then you should get your tickets for the Festival of Wizardry which is being held in Blyth from Sept. 21-23. Tickets can be purchased online at Transfiguredtown.com or call Cait’s Cafe in Goderich, 519-612-2268.
