Brussels hosts annual Santa Clause parade - Nov. 30, 2017
With the weather co-operating and wonderful participation the “Celebrate Canada’s 150th” Christmas parade in Brussels was a great success.
The children enjoyed the free skating, face painting by Snippity The Clown and her friend and the colouring contest while eagerly awaiting Santa’s arrival. Hot dogs and pop were also available for the hungry.
Santa and Mrs. Claus were greeted with a joyful cheer as the children lined up under the direction of Santa’s helpers, Avery and Kaelyn Burnett. The evening ended with everyone having received their bag of candy and a visit with Santa.
The winners of the day were: most original float, the Knight family; best service club, the Brussels Agricultural Society; best commercial, TCC; best overall float, D & D Glass.
Winners of the colouring contest assisted by Erin McMahon, ambassador of the fair winners were: ages 1-4, Leah Haag and Leyland; 5-8, Sydney Ives and Bentley Jenkin and 9-12, Marley Gaspirc and Waiden Nicholls.
