Brussels Four Winds Barn honoured provincially - April 19, 2018
The Ontario Business Improvement Area Association (OBIAA) recognized the Brussels Four Barn with the Bricks and Mortar Award at the 2018 National Business Improvement Area Conference in Collingwood earlier this week.
The award, according to the OBIAA website, is one of several awards presented at the event. It recognizes streetscaping and public realm improvements.
Previously, the Tillsonburg BIA received the award for its façade improvement grant program.
Huron East Economic Development Officer Jan Hawley announced the win on Facebook late Monday night, highlighting the importance of the barn in the revitalization of Brussels.
The structure has held its first events and has more than 60 weddings booked for the coming wedding seasons. It will also be home to Fresh Petals, a flower shop, in the stone house wing of the structure and a year-round farmers’ market.
The award marks the sixth time the OBIAA has recognized Huron East, according to Hawley, who said that kind of recognition is a team effort.
