BBMHA bottle drive set for Nov. 25 - Nov. 16, 2017
On Saturday, Nov. 25, representatives of Blyth Brussels Minor Hockey will be on the hunt for your bottles in an effort to raise funds for the league.
Sarah Cherrey, a representative of the parents of the league from Blyth, is one of the organizers of the event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day. The hope, she said, is that both the Blyth and Brussels communities will take part.
The main locations for the bottle drive will be Scrimgeour’s Food Market in Blyth and the Jam Jar Pub and Eatery in Brussels. However, Cherrey hopes that most businesses in both Blyth and Brussels will participate that day.
Cherrey said she hopes that most local businesses will open themselves up as fundraisers, asking patrons to donate $1 each to help the hockey association’s fundraising efforts.
The drive will go towards tournament fees and the hope is that enough will be raised that day to donate some of the proceeds to each of the association’s teams.
